Company Profile

Tamaki has been a trusted and successful company in Japan for over 50 years.
We are a leader in the field of neckwear for uniforms used by government agencies, private companies, and schools.

President’s Message

yokohama

Thanks to the support of our customers, Tamaki Corporation has been a leading company in the design, manufacture, and sale of uniform-based neckwear since 1955.

The world is confronted with the need for crucial solutions to global warming and other environmental problems. At the same time, we must also deal with a worldwide financial crisis. Both of these issues are arguably the greatest crises humankind has ever faced. We at Tamaki asked ourselves how we as a company could accept responsibility and do our part to make a positive difference.

Our answer has been to create a closed-loop recycling system that recovers used neckwear and utilizes the technology at the Matsuyama Plant operated by Teijin Fibers Ltd. to create new fibers that can be used to manufacture new neckwear. In this way, we have reduced CO2 gas emissions by eliminating the processes of discarding and burning old neckwear. Tamaki is unique in this achievement of total recycling within the neckwear field.

In response to President Obama’s call for a Green New Deal, nations around the world have begun to formulate a wide array of environmental policies.

We at Tamaki believe it is our responsibility to reduce, if only by a little, the damage that is being done to the environment, while promoting economic development through the use of our closed-loop recycling system.

All of us at Tamaki are committed to continuing our efforts to fulfill our corporate responsibility to contribute to a sustainable society.

rsImageTamaki’s Eco Neckties are Reborn
as Carbon Neutral Neckties!

Eco Neckties, introduced seven years ago by Tamaki, now lead the industry with neckties made entirely of 100 percent recycled fibers Up until now, only weft threads were made of eco-friendly fibers, but for the new Eco Neckties, both the warp and weft threads will be made of eco-friendly fibers.

By using ECOPET PLUS™, a recycled polyester fiber manufactured by Teijin Fibers Ltd., our company has built a closed-loop recycling system that can recycle recovered products into polyester fibers almost indefinitely. This has been made possible by partnering with Teijin Fibers to implement its closed-loop recycling system ECOCIRCLE™. This recycling system provides our company with the means to safely dispose of Eco Neckties and Eco Neckwear that are no longer being used, and most importantly, contribute to the preservation of the environment.
Polyester neckties are collected and taken to a recycling plant, where they are reborn as fibers that can be recycled an infinite number of times into new polyester fibers of absolutely the same quality as the original fiber without using any new resources.
Chemical recycling: By using this recycling system, materials can be recycled almost indefinitely.

Features of ECOCIRCLE™, the Closed-Loop Recycling System by Teijin Fibers

  1. Significant reduction in garbage output
  2. Effective utilization of resources
  3. Contributes to prevention of global warming
(Compared with making new polyester raw material from petroleum, this recycling system consumes only one-fifth the energy and produces one-fifth the CO2 emissions.)

About Carbon Offsets

#
Tamaki contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions by offsetting the roughly 70% of its CO2 emissions for which reduction is difficult to achieve, through the purchase of United Nations certified emission reductions from a carbon offset provider.
Ultimately, as part of Tamaki’s contribution to help Japan achieve its goal of a 6% reduction of its CO2 emissions from 1990 levels, the certified emission reductions are transferred to the Japanese government.

#Products bearing this mark are carbon offset products. #A Carbon Offset Certificate will be issued to customers purchasing a carbon offset product.
